Brave new world, everybody and anybody meaning nobodies can get their 15 minutes of fame nowdays.Doesn’t really matter how, you can make a complete idiot of yourself in public (you have many ways to do it online, for example blogging, broadcasting yourself, and there are a number of social networking sites). If you are stupid, you are not popular, then you can become famous.Maybe only for a period of short time, but hey.

Monica LewinskyLet’s start with Monica Lewinsky, I’m sure everybody remembers her.

There was quite a buzz about her around 1997-1999.

You know Sexual Relations with … president Bill Clinton.

She later testified that the relationship involved oral sex, but not sexual intercourse.

Lewinsky left the White House in April 1996 because her superiors felt she was spending too much time around Clinton.

Since September 1997, Lewinsky’s older colleague and confidante Linda Tripp was secretly recording their telephone conversations regarding the affair with Clinton.

The affair led to a period of pop culture celebrity for Lewinsky as a younger-generation nexus of a political storm that was both lighthearted and extremely serious at the same time.

Paula Jones Paula Jones former Arkansas state employee is another Clinton escapade who sued Clinton for his agressive advances.

Went under knife and became a Penthouse centerfold.

According to her story in 1991, Paula Jones was escorted to the Excelsior (now Peabody Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas) hotel room of Clinton, then governor of Arkansas, where he allegedly propositioned her.

Jones now claims she was victimized by both Clinton and his Republican opponents.

Her funds did not cover the attorneys fees, and Jones’ personal life was disrupted.

She was divorced by her husband, purchased a house, and incurred a large tax bill, then posed nude for Penthouse magazine, claiming to use the money to pay the tax and her childrens college education.

Rachel SmithRachel Smith (the black one on the right) the beautiful Miss USA fell flat on her booty at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico City in May 2007, but bounced back with poise and composure.Smith currently stars in Donald Trumps new MTV reality show Pageant Place along with Riyo Mori and Katie Blair the show started airing on october 10, 2007.

Smith was again booed by the Mexican crowd after she was announced as part of the top five while the local representative from Mexico was not.

This continued as Smith answered her final question, finishing by thanking the crowd in Spanish, which finally made the crowd cheer.

The booing and jeering during the pageant was a repeat of a similar incident during Miss Universe 1993, also held in Mexico City, when Miss USA Kenya Moore was loudly booed during that competition.

The audience reaction has also been attributed to political issues between the two nations, and by the fact that the mexican delegate didn’t reach the top 10 that year.

She eventually placed fourth runner-up, equaling the placement of her predecessor Tara Conner at Miss Universe 2006.

Darva Conger Darva Conger former emergency room nurse who was selected as the winner on the 2000 reality television show Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire resulting in marrying Rick Rockwell, the star of ‘Who Wants to Marry A Multi-Millionaire’.

Conger also won a 3-carat (600 mg) diamond ring and more than US$100,000 in prizes.

After the honeymoon, it was announced that Conger was seeking an annulment, saying Rockwell had misrepresented himself.

The annulment was finalized on April 5.

(Class act isnt it)

Conger was the focus of media attention for not only winning the “contest” but also for getting an annulment so quickly after the marriage.

She posed nude for Playboy magazine in the August 2000 issue.

She has since remarried, to Jim Arellano, and currently lives with her mother, former actress Susan Harrison, in Thousand Oaks, California.

Kato Kaelin Brian “Kato” Kaelin is the first of the famous-for-nothing celebrities.

He became a star witness in the OJ trial, and his witness stand demeanor made the trial circus-like.

His name has become something of a byword, as a textbook example of Andy Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame.

Kato starred in a low budget movie Night Shadow. He also had a minor role in National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze 2.

In 2005, Kaelin appeared in the first three National Lampoon’s Strip Poker pay-per-view programs.

The titles were filmed at the notorious Hedonism II, a naturist resort in Negril, Jamaica.

This led Kaelin to quip, “The first few days there were the hardest!” The Playboy bunnies, WWE Divas, and pin-up models competing in the no limit Texas hold ‘em games — upon losing all their chips and clothes — had to dive into the “Pool of Shame” and visit “Kato’s Guesthouse,” where Kato would interview the nude defeated players.Kato also appeared in numerous comedic skits

Richard HatchRichard Hatch is the winner of the first American Survivor series, which aired in 2000 and was set in Borneo. He is currently incarcerated for tax evasion.

Prior to his Survivor appearance, Hatch was a corporate trainer from Newport, Rhode Island. He spent five years in the US Army, is a licensed real estate agent, and has also worked as a car salesman and a bartender.

Richard’s appearance on Survivor: All-Stars was a very short but eventful one. As part of the Mogo Mogo tribe, they lost one member in Episode 3 when Survivor: Amazon winner Jenna Morasca quit to be with her dying mother. When the Saboga tribe was dissolved in Episode 5, Mogo Mogo gained two extra members and when they lost immunity, they immediately targeted Richard. Although Richard got wind of his impending doom and put together a counter strategy, his plans were foiled and he was voted out.

But his stay was not without its share of controversy. The Mogo Mogo tribe encouraged Richard’s nakedness in challenges, and in the immunity challenge in episode 5, he rubbed himself against opposing tribe member and fellow Survivor: Borneo alliance member Susan Hawk. While seemingly a joke at first, Susan took it very hard and opted to quit the game as a result in episode 6, the episode after Richard was eliminated.

James Frey James Frey is an American writer.

Before Frey began his writing career, he held several jobs in the Chicago area while studying at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Frey then moved to Los Angeles, California and found work as a screenwriter, director, and producer

Although he was discovered by Oprah, he was also panned by the talk show hostess for being a liar, which extended his 15 minutes of fame, but killed the sales of his follow-up book, My Friend Leonard.

Amazon.com editors selected A Million Little Pieces as their favorite book of 2003.

In September, 2005, Oprah Winfrey chose A Million Little Pieces for her monthly bookclub.

A Million Little Pieces became a bestseller, remaining on the New York Times best seller list for 44 weeks, selling in excess of 4.5 million copies.

The New Yorker praised the book as “A frenzied, electrifying description of the experience.”
